DevOps Engineer

Location: Hybrid in McLean, Virginia; applicants must currently reside in the United States.

Salary: USD $119,441–$191,106 per year.

What you will do

• Build and operate Kafka or equivalent event-streaming infrastructure, including topic design, reliability patterns, scaling, and monitoring.
• Design and maintain secure, repeatable CI/CD pipelines across environments.
• Provision and manage GovCloud/IL5 hosting environments and implement infrastructure as code for cloud resources, networks, clusters, and security configuration.
• Deploy, upgrade, and troubleshoot Kubernetes platforms for application and data services.
• Establish logging, metrics, tracing, runbooks, alerting, and incident-response readiness.
• Drive platform security and reliability practices, including least privilege, secrets management, backup and recovery, performance testing, and capacity planning.

Requirements

• Must maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree with 5–8 years of experience, or a master's degree with 3–6 years of experience.
• At least 5 years of DevOps or platform engineering experience in a government cloud environment.
• Production experience with Kafka or an equivalent event-streaming platform, including performance tuning and operational support.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and/or Ansible, Kubernetes, Helm or equivalent packaging, and cluster operations.
• Experience with AWS GovCloud or Azure Government and compliance-driven environments such as IL5 or RMF-aligned programs.

• Experience designing supportable, observable, and resilient platforms.
• Strong automation, troubleshooting, and cross-team enablement skills.
