Staff DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: Hybrid role based in Waltham, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $125,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient AWS cloud environments for regulated medical device platforms.
• Build Infrastructure as Code architectures and automate environment provisioning using Pulumi, Terraform, and CloudFormation.
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines for embedded Linux builds, firmware compilation, web applications, and API services.
• Integrate security, vulnerability scanning, code analysis, certificate management, and compliance controls into software delivery lifecycles.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, tracing, log aggregation, data integrity safeguards, and error handling across staging and production environments.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, peer reviews, and deployment guidance to cross-functional engineering teams.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Software Engineering, including cloud infrastructure experience.
• Advanced expertise in AWS services including EC2, EKS/ECS, IAM, VPC, RDS, and Route 53.
• Strong experience with DevSecOps, threat modeling, SonarQube, Black Duck SCA, Artifactory, GitHub Enterprise, and Jenkins.
• Deep knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Linux administration, embedded Linux platforms, and firmware integration.
• Experience with enterprise CI/CD systems, ELK, Splunk, and automated test evidence generation in regulated development workflows.
• Knowledge of IEC 62304, ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and IVDR, plus a relevant technical bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

• Hands-on experience with Pulumi.
