Salary: $195,800–$313,500 per year, with potential bonus, equity, and sales incentive payments where applicable.

What you will do

• Lead the architecture, design, and hands-on development of scalable, secure, API-centric distributed systems for B2B payments and money movement.
• Build cloud-native platform services with strong resilience, observability, security, maintainability, and performance.
• Establish software engineering standards, reusable frameworks, integration patterns, and platform best practices across teams.
• Shape the technical roadmap with product, architecture, and engineering leadership.
• Develop AI-native functionality, intelligent automation, and agentic workflow systems for production environments.
• Mentor senior engineers and influence enterprise technology, deployment, and platform strategy.

Requirements

• 12+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience based on an advanced degree or PhD; alternatively, 15+ years of relevant experience.
• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on development of large-scale backend or platform systems.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, scalable services, microservices, APIs, containers, security, and platform integration.
• Hands-on experience with GenAI, AI-native applications, workflow orchestration, intelligent automation, or agent-based systems.
• Experience with Java and modern backend frameworks such as Spring, as well as REST, gRPC, API gateways, DevOps, observability, and infrastructure automation.
• Ability to work from the Austin office at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience in payments, fintech, money movement, or other high-scale transaction environments.
• Experience working in environments where compliance, security, and global scale are critical.
