What you will do

• Contribute to large projects that evolve hirify.globalsearch core infrastructure and shared services.
• Design and implement new horizontally-scalable features and APIs, including tradeoff-driven API work.
• Improve hirify.globalsearch cloud operations and observability by providing logging and telemetry and owning investigations end-to-end.
• Increase developer productivity via automation and by integrating agentic apps into development workflows.
• Support hirify.globalsearch extensibility through plugins and Painless scripting, and help support engineers with harder problems.
• Collaborate in the open with the hirify.globalsearch community and other open source projects.

Requirements

• Experience crafting APIs and reasoning through tradeoffs.
• Strong core Java skills, including the standard library data structures and concurrency constructs, plus newer language features.
• Hands-on low-level Java experience (e.g., concurrency, parallelism, classloaders) and knowledge of JDK internals (modules, Java memory model, garbage collection, caching, etc.).
• Experience with CI/CD systems and practices (e.g., Buildkite, Argo CD, GitOps).
• Proven ability to lead large-scale projects across engineering teams and own work end-to-end.
• Ability to use AI to accelerate development, debug complex systems, and optimize code while still owning final outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience with observability/telemetry solutions, particularly OpenTelemetry.
• Knowledge of Go, containers, and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Java build tools (Gradle preferred) and experience working in a platform/developer productivity team.
