Salary: $180,000–$220,000 per year, plus eligibility for annual performance incentives.

What you will do

• Lead engineering execution, roadmap delivery, release quality, capacity planning, and cross-team dependency management.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, Security, Operations, and business stakeholders on priorities, technical decisions, delivery risks, and investment tradeoffs.
• Establish engineering standards for branching, release governance, deployment, quality gates, CI/CD, secure development, and automated testing.
• Own production operational excellence, including availability, incident response, operational readiness, post-incident reviews, and reliability improvements.
• Use DORA and other engineering metrics to improve delivery speed, quality, reliability, and operational maturity.
• Hire, mentor, coach, and develop engineering teams through feedback, performance management, succession planning, and career development.

Requirements

• Must work from the Chicago, Illinois area and attend the office three days per week.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with progression into engineering leadership.
• 3+ years leading software engineering teams with responsibility for delivery, operations, and people development.
• Experience establishing delivery standards across multiple teams and using DORA metrics to improve outcomes.
• Strong software engineering background with C# or comparable technologies, public cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical concepts, risks, delivery status, and tradeoffs to executives and business stakeholders.
