What you will do
- Lead electrical systems analysis, modeling, and design for major utility-scale projects.
- Develop safe, economical, and code-compliant designs aligned with NEC, NESC, IEEE, NERC, IEC, and company standards.
- Manage engineering deliverables from proposal through project completion and establish processes for incorporating owner requirements into final designs.
- Collaborate with project teams, owners, vendors, and external engineering firms on technical solutions, procurement, and high-risk design decisions.
- Develop engineering metrics, objectives, standards, and process-improvement initiatives.
- Mentor junior engineers and assess the performance of engineering partners.
Requirements
- 10+ years of engineering leadership experience in transmission, distribution, renewable energy, or power generation.
- Experience with PSCAD, ETAP, SKM, PSSE, and PSCAD/EMTDC modeling software.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or power systems engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience with load flow, short circuit, arc flash, protection coordination, transient stability, electromagnetic transients, microgrids, and inverter-based resource studies.
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time as project needs require.
Nice to have
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience developing engineers and driving technical standards.
- Strong systems studies and modeling experience in the power and renewable energy sectors.
