What you will do

• Oversee EPC contractor engineering design and construction for Solar, Wind, and BESS substations and transmission lines (35kV to 500kV).
• Review substation designs for compliance with interconnection agreement requirements and reliability standards.
• Coordinate power system studies such as load flows, short circuits, harmonics, and insulation coordination.
• Collaborate with utilities and internal stakeholders to design collector substations according to AES specifications.
• Provide technical oversight during substation commissioning by reviewing apparatus testing.
• Work with cross-functional teams including real estate, permitting, attorneys, and finance.

Requirements

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or other engineering disciplines.
• 7+ years of technical design experience in substation (Physical, P&C) or transmission line design.
• Must be based in the US.
• Proficiency in reading control schematics for HV breakers and Main Power Transformers.
• Advanced knowledge of power system modeling including load flow, grounding, and arc-flash.

Nice to have

• PE Licensure in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, or Utah.
• Experience with ETAP, PSLF, PSS/E, or PLS-CADD.
• Project Management experience handling HV EPCs.
• Experience in relay system testing and SCADA controls architecture.
