Location: Ipswich, UK; hybrid work with at least three days per week in the office

What you will do

• Assess legacy exchange and data centre infrastructure to identify field challenges and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop, prototype, and refine innovative robotic and Smart Tools solutions for physical infrastructure problems.
• Support project management for complex Smart Tools and Robotics research projects.
• Coordinate partnerships and engagements with engineering teams across the business.
• Support field engineering change initiatives and transformation activities that improve customer experience.
• Conduct field research and communicate findings, trends, and opportunities to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Background in mechanical or civil engineering.
• Strong communication skills, including presenting research and technical expertise to peers and managers.
• Experience with stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to translate technical problems into clear, accessible language.
• Self-starting attitude and willingness to learn.

Nice to have

• Experience with data centres and telecommunications exchanges.
• Experience in civil engineering or physical infrastructure.
• Experience working in heavy cable environments.
