What you will do

• Own Design-for-Serviceability (DfS) for electrical and electronics to ensure modularity and low-skill field-executability.
• Define and validate electrical repair, rework, and replacement procedures across power distribution, batteries, and compute.
• Specify diagnostic points, test equipment, and safe-isolation/lockout procedures.
• Develop electrical diagnostic content for the Digital Shadow platform to localize faults deep in the BOM.
• Lead electrical input for Service Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (S-FMEA) and feed requirements back into design.
• Act as the primary engineering interface between Services and R&D for electrical escalations.

Requirements

• Electrical or electronics engineering background with experience diagnosing and repairing complex electromechanical products or robots.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, battery systems, wiring harnesses, sensors (LiDAR, cameras), and actuator electronics.
• Proficiency in reading schematics and wiring diagrams, and using electrical test equipment like multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• Experience with Design-for-Serviceability, connectorisation, and fault isolation.
• Comfort working across the full BOM hierarchy, from full-robot diagnosis to board-level repair.
• Must be based in or be able to work on-site in London, UK.

Nice to have

• Experience with hirify.global or legged robotics electrical systems.
• Familiarity with Battery Management Systems (BMS), high-current power electronics, and functional safety.
• Experience with calibration-after-repair for sensors and actuators.
• Exposure to spare-parts/service-replaceable-unit (SRU) strategy and refurbishment loops.
• Experience transitioning a product from prototype to mass production.
