What you will do

• Produce preliminary AutoCAD site plans, layouts, and design packages for solar PV and BESS projects.
• Collaborate with Development Engineers and Engineering Managers to deliver designs on schedule.
• Integrate field survey data and prepare drawings according to company standards and templates.
• Apply quality-control procedures to verify completeness, accuracy, and code compliance.
• Generate bills of materials from CAD drawings and provide civil and electrical construction details.
• Communicate proactively while working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of drafting or design experience in the solar PV or renewable energy industry.
• Two-year AAS degree in Computer-Aided Design and Drafting or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and working with shapefiles.
• Familiarity with solar PV design, site design, layout considerations, and basic electrical plans and terminology.
• Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to continue developing technical skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with civil and grading design.
• High-voltage or substation experience.
• Knowledge of civil constraints in the Eastern United States, including wetlands, floodplains, and karst topography.
