Associate Principal Engineer - Civil Engineering (Renewable Civil)

Location: Fully remote or local/in-office in Lakewood, Colorado; applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States.

Salary: $100,000–$175,000 per year, based on the Denver, Colorado labor market.

What you will do

• Serve as a subject matter expert on complex civil and structural engineering projects in collaboration with Technical Directors and the Vice President.
• Review and develop designs for electric power substations, generating plants, utility transmission and distribution systems, and industrial and commercial facilities.
• Prepare grading, road, foundation, structural steel, drainage, permitting, equipment arrangement, and related engineering documents.
• Write and review material, construction, and steel specifications, submittals, cost estimates, budgets, proposals, and technical studies.
• Establish and enforce technical standards, perform QA/QC reviews, and check the work of designers, drafters, and field personnel.
• Perform engineering calculations, modeling, field inspections, and construction supervision, with typical travel of 15–25%.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited institution; civil/structural or mechanical specialization preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant engineering or field experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MathCAD, SAP2000, PLS-CADD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, modeling and design software, and Microsoft Office.
• Effective written and oral communication, interpersonal, and people skills.
• Current authorization to work full-time in the United States is required.
