Lead AI Engineer

TL;DR

Lead AI Engineer (Python/LLM): Leading two GenAI teams developing conversational agents and AI-driven advertising analytics and automation capabilities with an accent on agentic workflows, LLM integration, and full-stack platform engineering. Focus on designing graph-based multi-agent systems, integrating APIs and streaming interfaces, and deploying reliable AI solutions to production.

Location: Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, Poland, or Ukraine; remote and hybrid work options are available.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor two GenAI teams, manage roadmaps, coordinate collaboration, and oversee delivery.
• Design and develop conversational agents from concept through production deployment.
• Build AI-driven solutions for advertising campaign analytics, insights, automation, and platform capabilities.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, business operations, and other stakeholders on goals and deliverables.
• Research advanced AI technologies and integrate external APIs and services.
• Participate in pager duty rotations as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams and 6+ years building customer-facing full-stack applications.
• 2+ years of hands-on Python experience with FastAPI, asynchronous programming, SQLAlchemy, and Pydantic; experience with TypeScript and NestJS.
• Experience designing AI agents with LangGraph and/or LangChain, including graph-based workflows, tool calling, structured outputs, and checkpointing.
• Strong knowledge of LLM concepts, RAG, prompt engineering, guardrails, observability, tracing, REST APIs, SSE and/or WebSockets.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, PostgreSQL, distributed systems, microservices, caching, API routing, automated testing, and multi-agent orchestration. English at B2 level or higher is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with vector databases and columnar data warehouses such as Vertica.
• Experience with AWS and boto3, MCP, A2A, or text-to-SQL solutions.
• Familiarity with Unleash or LaunchDarkly and AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code.
