Vice President, Litigation

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, California, United States, with in-office presence Tuesday through Thursday

Salary: $232,000–$328,000 base salary annually, plus bonus; range may vary outside the San Francisco Bay Area.

Via Licensing Alliance, a subsidiary of hirify.global, administers global patent licensing programs across audio, video, broadcast, power, and other technologies, covering approximately 25,000 patents in more than 130 countries.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end patent, intellectual property, and complex commercial litigation strategy and execution.
• Advise senior leadership on litigation risk, dispute resolution, licensing enforcement, and commercial impact.
• Manage outside counsel, litigation budgets, staffing, case strategy, and executive reporting.
• Oversee discovery, document collection, privilege review, depositions, expert engagement, filings, trials, appeals, and settlements.
• Evaluate licensing requests, infringement allegations, claims, counterclaims, and settlement opportunities.
• Partner with legal, licensing, finance, product, and technical teams and build litigation-management processes across jurisdictions.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
• 10+ years of litigation experience, including experience in both a top-tier law firm and an in-house legal environment.
• Strong experience in patent, intellectual property, and complex commercial litigation involving sophisticated technology and licensing issues.
• Experience managing outside counsel, litigation budgets, case strategy, and executive-level reporting.
• Excellent judgment, negotiation, communication, collaboration, and legal-document drafting skills.
