Senior Database Administrator (AWS)

Salary: $120,000 depending on experience

What you will do

• Own the availability, performance, security, backup and recovery, patching, and disaster recovery of enterprise database platforms.
• Design, operate, and improve SQL Server, Aurora PostgreSQL, AWS RDS, and related database ecosystems.
• Lead complex database migrations, upgrades, transformation initiatives, and high-availability implementations.
• Own the enterprise Reporting Database, CDC pipeline, data retention processes, and database change governance.
• Review high-risk schema and query changes and guide engineering, architecture, and infrastructure teams on database solutions.
• Support production systems and participate in on-call operations as required.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in database administration and architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Aurora PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server 2019, AWS RDS, and cloud database environments.
• Experience designing high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions.
• Strong knowledge of database architecture, performance tuning, security hardening, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
• Ability to automate database operations using SQL scripting and related tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience and certifications.

Nice to have

• Exposure to data streaming or change data capture concepts.
• Familiarity with Liquibase or similar database schema migration tools.
• Experience with AI-enabled operational tools.
