DBA (Aurora PostgreSQL / AWS RDS)

Location: Belgrade, Cluj-Napoca, Krakow, Larnaca, Lodz, Lublin, Riga, Sofia, Tbilisi, Varna, Warsaw, Wroclaw, or Yerevan; remote options are available from Bulgaria, Georgia, or Poland.

What you will do

• Design and support migration from Azure SQL to Aurora PostgreSQL, including schema transformation and bulk data loading.
• Implement PL/pgSQL trigger-based history tables, data validation, audit structures, soft-delete patterns, and Flyway migration scripts.
• Configure AWS RDS IAM authentication, KMS encryption, TLS enforcement, and least-privilege database access.
• Perform query analysis, index and schema optimization, autovacuum tuning, connection pool sizing, and scheduled maintenance with pg_cron.
• Support Snowflake data pipelines through WAL-based change data capture or scheduled exports.
• Collaborate with engineering and data teams to maintain database reliability, scalability, and security.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional PostgreSQL experience.
• Hands-on experience with Aurora PostgreSQL, AWS RDS, RDS IAM authentication, and KMS.
• Strong PL/pgSQL skills and experience with Flyway and pg_cron.
• Experience migrating Azure SQL or SQL Server databases to PostgreSQL.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL schema design, indexing, performance tuning, and cloud database security.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and cross-team collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Snowflake experience and knowledge of WAL-based CDC or scheduled export mechanisms.
• Experience with time-partitioned history table patterns.
• Familiarity with HikariCP and connection pool optimization.
• Experience with investment management or financial services projects.
