Manager, Database Administration (Oracle)

Salary: $139,000–$174,000 annual base salary, with potential additional bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, recruit, and develop the database administration team, including workload planning, performance reviews, and 24/7 production on-call coverage.
• Define database infrastructure strategy and lead enterprise architecture across physical, virtualized, and cloud environments.
• Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, governance, and lifecycle management for Oracle, MS SQL Server, and PostgreSQL databases.
• Drive database automation, performance tuning, query optimization, capacity planning, and operational improvements.
• Own database security, access management, encryption, vulnerability remediation, and SOC2/ISO27001 compliance activities.
• Lead backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, RPO/RTO planning, and validation across supported database platforms.

Requirements

• 3+ years of people management experience and 12+ years of progressive database administration experience.
• 10+ years of Oracle 19c+ administration, plus 3+ years of hands-on MS SQL Server 2012+ and PostgreSQL experience.
• Expertise in PL/SQL coding, debugging, query optimization, database performance monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Strong Linux administration and Bash scripting skills, with experience in Microsoft Azure, Azure SQL, and PowerShell.
• Experience designing high-availability solutions, including clustering, replication, and failover strategies.
• Background in infrastructure design, database security, regulatory compliance, and enterprise monitoring tools such as DataDog, SolarWinds, or Site24x7.
