Manager Development (PHP/Laravel)

Location: Remote (US-only) or Hybrid in Denver, CO or Des Moines, IA

Salary: $175,000 - $200,000 USD per year + 15% annual bonus

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of software engineers through regular 1-on-1s and growth plans.
• Balance hands-on technical involvement, including code reviews, architecture, and design decisions.
• Drive the delivery of features and platform work for the ClearanceJobs marketplace.
• Collaborate with product owners and designers to implement high-quality product features.
• Oversee production reliability, triaging incidents, and conducting root-cause analysis.
• Manage capacity planning and sequence work across competing priorities.

Requirements

• Hands-on proficiency building web applications with Laravel, PHP, TypeScript, VueJS, and MySQL.
• Working knowledge of AWS and cloud-hosted application infrastructure.
• Proven experience leading software engineering teams, including hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
• Experience with unit and end-to-end testing tools to ensure quality product releases.
• Must be based in the United States.
• Experience with secure development practices for platforms serving security-cleared professionals.

Nice to have

• Experience with Jira software management tools.
• Experience with Linux and containerized workloads using Docker.
• Ability to leverage AI tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) effectively across the SDLC.
