Property General Adjuster - Remote

Location: Remote within Selective's footprint; conditions list Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, United States

What you will do

• Handle complex commercial and residential property and inland marine claims, generally involving dollar exposures of $100,000 or more.
• Investigate losses, estimate property damage, obtain documentation, select and deploy experts, and complete accurate settlements.
• Make coverage determinations, negotiate resolutions, set reserves, and settle claims within established authority.
• Manage complex business income losses, vendors, expenses, reinsurance referrals, and significant exposure reporting.
• Assist with catastrophe deployments lasting at least two weeks and attend litigation or trial proceedings when required.
• Travel by car approximately 25–50% of the time and assist claims activity in other regions as needed.

Requirements

• Five years of property claims experience.
• Thorough knowledge of Commercial and Personal Lines coverages.
• Experience with Xactimate or other computer-based damage estimating software.
• Strong communication, negotiation, customer service, policy interpretation, and legal issue assessment skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and claims software.
• Valid state-issued driver's license, ability to drive, and appropriate state adjuster license(s) with continuing education credits; availability for varying shifts.
