Quality Technician (Automotive)

Zoox is developing the first ground-up, fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the supporting ecosystem for urban mobility-as-a-service.

What you will do

• Perform in-line quality inspections in General Assembly and End of Line.
• Read and interpret technical drawings in CAD to understand part design and intended assembly.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate triage and root cause analysis.
• Validate that approved reworks completed by the Repair team meet high quality standards.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to identify and communicate quality trends.
• Develop training plans for inspection, quality standards, and quality alerts.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a quality technician.
• Ability to look up and read technical specifications in CAD.
• Broad technical background in mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with triage, root cause analysis, and implementing containments.
• Ability to read PFMEA, Control Plans, and inspection documents.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Hayward, CA.

Nice to have

• A.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of technician experience in high-volume automotive manufacturing.
• Experience with MES, SAP, or Ignition Systems.
• Basic understanding of GD&T principles.
• Experience interpreting Metrology reports.
