Location: Hybrid in Warren, Michigan (must report to office at least 3 times a week)

What you will do

• Develop and implement machine vision solutions for quality inspection, defect detection, and robot guidance.
• Specify, procure, and validate vision system components including cameras, lenses, and lighting.
• Collaborate with controls engineering and IT partners to establish system requirements and optimize performance.
• Lead root cause analysis and utilize vision data to troubleshoot technical issues and improve manufacturing processes.
• Train production staff on the operation and maintenance of vision systems.
• Work with suppliers and plant personnel to implement cost reduction and manufacturing improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Manufacturing) or Computer Science.
• 3+ years of experience developing and maintaining vision systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time domestically and internationally.
• Proficiency with CAD systems such as AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS, or Teamcenter.
• Experience with project management methodologies to manage budgets and production schedules.
• Must be based in or eligible for relocation to Warren, Michigan.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of experience in product quality inspection systems.
• Experience with vision platforms like Cognex, Keyence, Matrox, or Fanuc 2D/3D.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, and OpenCV.
• Knowledge of AI-based vision systems, image processing algorithms, and SPC methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with PLCs and industrial robotics.
