TL;DR

Controller, Real Estate Development (Property Accounting): Overseeing financial operations, reporting, budgeting, and cost management for real estate development projects with an accent on project accounting, cash hirify.global modeling, and GAAP-compliant capitalization. Focus on tracking development spend, managing construction loan requirements, coordinating audits and tax compliance, and supporting projects from land acquisition through stabilization or disposition.

Location: Full-time onsite at hirify.global’s Miami headquarters in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida, United States.

What you will do

• Lead full-cycle project and property accounting for active and pipeline development projects and integrate processes with the corporate month-end close.
• Track project costs, maintain ledgers, analyze budget-to-actual variances, and manage cost allocation across pre-development, construction, and lease-up phases.
• Build project-level cash hirify.global and accounting models for feasibility analysis, construction cash management, and capital calls.
• Prepare and review budgets, pro formas, reforecasts, and variance analyses with development, acquisitions, construction, and property management teams.
• Manage construction loan payments, covenant compliance, lender reporting, and interest reserve tracking.
• Coordinate audits, tax compliance, third-party advisors, general contractors, lenders, and investors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3+ years in real estate development or construction project accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with project-based accounting systems; Yardi, Procore, MRI, or similar ERP experience is strongly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP for development, construction, and capitalization policies.
• Understanding of real estate development terms, construction project cycles, cost tracking, and lender reporting.
• Strong communication, presentation, prioritization, and multitasking skills in a deadline-driven environment.

• CPA certification or progress toward CPA designation.
