AI & Human Resources Governance Lead (AI)

Location: London/Oxford, United Kingdom (Flexible working environment)

Salary: GBP 85,000 - GBP 105,000 yearly

What you will do

• Design and implement governance standards for the responsible use of AI in HR and Talent Acquisition, including screening and workflow automation.
• Identify and assess risks related to data privacy, retention, lawful processing, and AI-driven decision risks.
• Partner with Legal, Privacy, Security, Procurement, and Tech teams to define governance controls and escalation paths.
• Review HR and TA processes, systems, and vendor arrangements to identify compliance gaps and operational risks.
• Translate legal, regulatory, and policy requirements into practical operating processes and guardrails for HR teams.
• Build reporting and governance updates for senior stakeholders to track risk, progress, and readiness.

Requirements

• Significant experience in stakeholder management across multiple functions and levels.
• Strong project or program management experience in risk, compliance, governance, or transformation initiatives.
• Deep understanding of data privacy principles, including GDPR and UK GDPR / Data Protection Act.
• Working knowledge of the EU AI Act and global legal frameworks relevant to AI-enabled decision making.
• Experience drafting and implementing governance frameworks, policies, or operating standards.
• Must be based in the UK (London or Oxford).

Nice to have

• Experience in HR Operations, Responsible AI, Data Privacy, or GRC.
• Familiarity with AI governance frameworks such as NIST AI RMF or ISO/IEC 42001.
• Direct experience with Talent Acquisition tools and candidate lifecycle data management.
• Experience working in a global or multi-jurisdiction environment.
