Electrical Engineer Specialist - Distribution

Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States. Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days at the manager’s discretion. Travel to client sites may be required. Relocation is not available, and visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Lead electrical distribution line projects from design through execution, covering systems from 4kV to 34.5kV.
• Prepare complex engineering deliverables, equipment recommendations, engineering calculations, and project data.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, quality requirements, and resource planning across multiple disciplines.
• Provide technical leadership, review engineering work, and guide or mentor junior engineers and production teams.
• Interface with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal project teams to develop solutions and manage project changes.
• Support proposals, estimates, business development, continuous improvement, and change management activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology, engineering sciences, or equivalent specialized training or experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of related engineering experience.
• Experience designing overhead and underground distribution projects for investor-owned utilities in the United States.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles, NESC, NEC, and applicable design standards.
• Experience coordinating procurement, permitting, land acquisition, construction support, and other interdisciplinary activities.
• Must be able to complete pre-employment background, drug-screening, and motor-vehicle-record requirements; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
• Experience with proposal development, engineering estimates, and client relationship growth.
