TL;DR

Location: Onsite shipyard work near Charleston, South Carolina, United States. Access to the shipyard requires an extensive background check, and the position is limited to U.S. Persons eligible under ITAR requirements.

What you will do

  • Supervise and perform VT, MT, and UTSW nondestructive testing in accordance with NAVSEA procedures, codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Set up and verify the proper use of NDT testing equipment by inspection personnel.
  • Provide on-the-job training, guidance, and oversight for qualified and trainee personnel.
  • Prepare written instructions and organize and report examination results.
  • Coordinate work scope and priorities with department managers and shipyard clients.
  • Follow ATS and client safety programs while working independently and supporting the inspection team.

Requirements

  • Meet the minimum requirements for NDT Level III certification in VT, MT, and UTSW, with documentation of education, training, and experience.
  • NAVSEA and/or shipyard work experience is required.
  • Working knowledge of industrial environments and general manufacturing processes.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; successful drug screening and extensive shipyard background check required.
  • U.S. Person status is required for ITAR-controlled information access.
