Manufacturing Technician I

TL;DR

Location: Onsite in Rockville, Maryland, United States; frequent work at a laboratory bench and/or in a cleanroom.

Salary: $38,500–$55,900 annual base salary, with potential discretionary or non-discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Operate automated equipment used to produce biological assays and reagents.
• Manufacture coated plates, buffers, diluents, reagents, assembled kits, and occasional custom or prototype orders.
• Complete production documentation, data capture, logbooks, forms, and inventory batch records.
• Perform daily equipment maintenance and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Process, aliquot, vial, label, and maintain raw material, reagent, coated plate, and physical inventories.
• Support process improvement, assay and manufacturing process development, laboratory maintenance, and safety procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; a degree in biology, chemistry, biotechnology, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to learn and follow laboratory techniques, safety precautions, software tools, and standard production procedures.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.
• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including reporting issues that affect timelines, accuracy, and data reliability.
• Ability to multitask and work productively in a demanding industrial manufacturing environment with changing priorities.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally handle BSL2 reagents.

Nice to have

• Prior manufacturing experience.
• Experience with MRP/ERP or JDE systems.
• Experience with cGMP and/or ISO-certified environments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
