Malware Researcher (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid working model with at least 2 days per week in either the Cambridge or London office, United Kingdom

What you will do

• Analyze cyber threats, malware, and adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures.
• Hunt proactively for emerging threats and identify new attack trends.
• Produce threat intelligence reports, research publications, blogs, and conference presentations.
• Develop data-driven methodologies, visualizations, and analytical approaches for investigations and intelligence production.
• Develop and refine threat detections based on research findings.
• Collaborate with security researchers, analysts, and product teams to strengthen threat intelligence capabilities.

Requirements

• Background in cybersecurity, computer science, data science, or a related field.
• Experience with malware analysis and reverse engineering.
• Understanding of operating systems, networking, system internals, security fundamentals, modern cyber threats, and attacker methodologies.
• Programming or scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, or C/C++.
• Experience analyzing structured and unstructured datasets to generate actionable insights.
• Familiarity with threat intelligence, digital forensics, or reverse engineering techniques.

Nice to have

• Experience applying data science techniques to cybersecurity challenges.
• Background in threat intelligence, detection engineering, or security analytics.
• Knowledge of query languages and security tooling.
• Research publications, blog writing, conference presentations, or open-source contributions.
