Threat Research Analyst (Cybersecurity)

TL;DR

Threat Research Analyst (Cybersecurity): Investigating emerging cyber threats and malware TTPs to improve detection capabilities with an accent on threat hunting and data-driven methodologies. Focus on uncovering insights from complex datasets, reverse engineering malware, and producing high-quality threat intelligence.

Location: Hybrid (minimum 2 days per week in London or Cambridge, United Kingdom)

What you will do

• Conduct in-depth analysis of cyber threats, malware, and adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
• Proactively hunt for emerging threats and identify new attack trends.
• Produce high-quality threat intelligence reports, blogs, and research publications.
• Develop data-driven methodologies to support threat hunting and intelligence production.
• Collaborate with security researchers and product teams to refine threat detections.
• Present research findings internally and at industry conferences.

Requirements

• Background in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Understanding of operating systems, networking concepts, system internals, and security fundamentals.
• Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or C/C++.
• Ability to analyze structured and unstructured datasets to generate meaningful insights.
• Familiarity with malware analysis, threat intelligence, digital forensics, or reverse engineering.
• Must be based in or able to commute to London or Cambridge for a hybrid work model.

• Expertise in malware analysis and reverse engineering.
• Experience applying data science techniques to cybersecurity challenges.
• Knowledge of query languages and security tooling.
• Prior research publications, blog writing, or open-source contributions.
