What you will do

• Engineer and deploy robust security controls and detection logic to mitigate cyber threats.
• Apply test-driven development principles to build resilient and scalable security solutions.
• Leverage automation and applied AI to enhance detection accuracy and optimize response workflows.
• Contribute to the hardening of cloud and enterprise environments through innovative mechanisms.
• Collaborate with SOC, Threat Intelligence, and platform engineering teams to deliver integrated security outcomes.
• Research emerging threats and translate insights into improved detection coverage.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work from Welwyn Garden City, UK.
• Demonstrable understanding of software development lifecycles and production-grade solutions.
• Experience with secure coding practices and test-driven development.
• Practical exposure to security platforms like SIEM and EDR.
• Ability to design and implement custom detection rules and telemetry at scale.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud and container security principles.
• Familiarity with applied AI concepts in cyber defence.
• Proficiency in querying languages such as SPL, KQL, or SQL.
• Awareness of product methodologies and agile delivery.
• Experience with engineering workflow tools like Github and Jira.
