General Manager (Elevator Industry)

Location: Columbus, Ohio, United States; the position requires up to 25% travel.

Salary: $170,000–$200,000 per year, plus a car allowance, fuel card, and annual incentive program.

What you will do

• Lead branch operations across departments and lines of business, ensuring efficient and cost-effective performance.
• Manage branch P&L, budgets, accounting reports, receivables, invoices, margins, and profitability reviews.
• Drive revenue growth through sales leadership, customer presentations, complex bids, CRM oversight, and proposal approvals.
• Oversee service contract retention, customer care, NPS follow-up, and relationships with clients, consultants, building owners, and prospects.
• Supervise department managers and superintendents, develop employees, and coordinate performance management for union and non-union staff.
• Administer branch safety programs, conduct safety audits, chair the safety committee, and ensure compliance with elevator industry codes and company policies.

Requirements

• Thorough knowledge of the elevator industry and general management methods within the industry.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Proven success managing and developing talent.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and manage abstract and concrete variables.
• Understanding of engineering and physics fundamentals is preferred.
