What you will do

• Support the Head of Financial Control in maintaining a robust control environment across Retail Finance.
• Lead reviews of financial controls and governance against Finance standards.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheet activity.
• Produce management information on reporting and risk indicators for leadership and business stakeholders.
• Advise on accounting processes, reconciliations, technical accounting judgements, and control requirements.
• Manage and coach a junior colleague while contributing to risk, control, model governance, and financial records activities.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in financial control, financial reporting, or financial controller roles within a large, complex, or regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of financial control frameworks, governance, and risk management.
• Understanding of insurance accounting, actuarial processes, IFRS, Solvency II, and SAO requirements.
• Experience managing reporting cycles, balance sheet reviews, technical accounting judgements, and audit interactions.
• Strong analytical, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills.
