Technical Program Manager, Software (Software)

Location: Hybrid; on-site in the San Jose, California office three days per week. Access to export-controlled information requires U.S. person status, eligibility without export authorization, or a reasonable likelihood of obtaining the required authorization.

Salary: $165,000–$188,000 annually, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Define program objectives, scope, milestones, schedules, dependencies, and success criteria with engineering and product stakeholders.
• Coordinate execution across software, hardware, science, and product teams from early concept through delivery and launch.
• Identify risks and blockers, coordinate mitigation plans, and drive timely issue resolution.
• Provide concise progress, risk, decision, and change updates to stakeholders and leadership.
• Improve software development processes, tools, capacity planning, prioritization, and staffing practices.
• Coordinate software release planning and readiness across impacted teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least three years of experience as a software engineer or in a comparable technical role.
• At least three years of experience managing or coordinating software development projects.
• Strong knowledge of software development methods, tools, and infrastructure.
• Experience with cross-functional planning, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
• Ability to work on-site in San Jose three days per week and meet applicable U.S. export-control access requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, robotics, logistics, or other high-reliability real-time software domains.
• Experience reviewing technical documentation, architecture proposals, or requirements specifications.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, OKR frameworks, and distributed team environments.
