Engineer III - Platform Data Engineer (Remote)

Location: USA - Remote, NY. U.S. citizenship or Green Card/permanent resident status is required for CJIS clearance, and the role includes periodic additional background and fingerprint checks.

Base salary: $120,000–$180,000 per year, plus potential bonuses, equity grants, health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.

What you will do

• Architect, deploy, configure, and administer core data platform tooling, including Apache Airflow and Superset.
• Manage infrastructure-as-code for data platform components using Terraform.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for platform services and data workflow deployments.
• Implement platform security, access controls, and compliance standards.
• Develop data models with DBT and catalog assets in OpenMetadata.
• Write Python automation and data-processing code while mentoring junior engineers and providing technical leadership.

Requirements

• Eligibility for CJIS clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship or Green Card/permanent resident status.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of combined infrastructure and data engineering experience, including 5+ years of advanced Python programming.
• Expertise deploying and administering Apache Airflow and strong experience managing Superset or similar BI platforms.
• Cloud expertise across AWS, GCP, Azure, or OCI, including IAM, networking, and managed services.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, Kubernetes and/or Docker in production, DBT, OpenMetadata, SQL, data modeling, security, compliance, and AI technologies.
