Salary: $106,500 – $146,475

What you will do

• Develop and manage static, dynamic, and transient loads for reactor systems and transport configurations.
• Perform structural dynamics analyses including modal, random vibration, shock, and fatigue assessments.
• Implement explicit dynamics simulations to model nonlinear reactor response under seismic and transportation events.
• Conduct finite element analyses (FEA) using tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or Nastran.
• Collaborate with design engineers to influence hardware architecture, material selection, and joint design.
• Support test planning and correlation, including shaker tests and root cause failure investigations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in loads, dynamics, or structural analysis for complex mechanical systems.
• Proficiency with industry-standard FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus, Nastran).
• Strong fundamentals in structural mechanics, dynamics, and vibration.
• Must work 100% onsite at El Segundo HQ.
• Must be compliant with U.S. export controls.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, launch, defense, or nuclear hardware environments.
• Proficiency with dynamics modeling software (LS-Dyna, Abaqus explicit).
• Knowledge of fatigue, fracture mechanics, and bolted joint analysis.
• Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant engineering discipline.
