Senior Mechanical Engineer (Robotics)

TL;DR

Location: Must be based in or able to work onsite 3+ days per week in Rumford, RI

Salary: $150,000 – $185,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Lead mechanical design and integration of new systems, payloads, and structural components.
• Create detailed CAD models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks for marine environments.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to define interfaces, routing, and packaging for wiring harnesses and connectors.
• Conduct hardware builds, bench testing, and vehicle integration to validate mechanical designs.
• Maintain technical documentation, including BOMs, ICDs, and configuration records.
• Partner with manufacturing teams to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) for rugged systems.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design and system integration.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks for CAD modeling and drafting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Secret Security Clearance.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping and troubleshooting electromechanical systems.
• Solid understanding of mechanical systems, materials, tolerances, and structural design.

Nice to have

• Experience with payload integration for maritime or aerospace uncrewed vehicle systems.
• Knowledge of thermal management, sealing, vibration, and shock considerations for embedded hardware.
• Experience with additive manufacturing.
