What you will do

• Build and maintain CAD models of spacecraft layouts, including structures, mechanisms, avionics, power, fluids, and propulsion in Creo Parametric.
• Develop interface control models and drawings to manage vehicle and inter-element interfaces across various configurations.
• Export CAD representations for system-level analysis and integration across different engineering teams.
• Assess configuration designs through the entire lifecycle: concept development, procurement, assembly, integration, and testing.
• Coordinate with configurators and architects to ensure seamless integration for the production phase.
• Apply industry drafting techniques to plan and maintain engineering data as designs evolve.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
• 5+ years of related experience in automotive, aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle hardware.
• Extensive experience working with ProEngineer/Creo and familiarity with Windchill.
• Experience managing large CAD assemblies and releasing associated drawings.
• Ability to create detailed fabrication and installation drawings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with PTC ProPiping, ProCabling, or Routed Systems Designer.
• Knowledge of Model Based Definition (MBD) and PDM version control databases.
• Proficiency with ASME Y14.100, Y14.5, and Y14.41 drafting standards.
• Solid understanding of common manufacturing materials, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Knowledge of spacecraft components and piping system fabrication methods.
