What you will do
- Review and verify engineering drawings, models, and documentation against ASME Y14.5 GD&T and ASME Y14 drafting standards.
- Identify and document errors and inconsistencies in design data, providing feedback to design engineers for correction.
- Validate the accuracy of CAD models and associated metadata before release to ensure producibility and manufacturability.
- Support drawing release processes within PLM systems such as Teamcenter, Windchill, or Enovia.
- Coordinate with the Configuration Management team regarding change notices, effectivity, and configuration control.
- Participate in tolerance stack-up and interface checks to ensure fit, form, and function integrity.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in producing or checking engineering drawings in aerospace, automotive, or complex product environments.
- Proficiency with CAD tools such as NX, CATIA, or CREO for validating models and drawings.
- Strong expertise in ASME Y14.5 GD&T and ASME Y14 drafting standards.
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems like Teamcenter, Windchill, or Enovia.
- Must be located in San Jose, California.

- Background as a senior design engineer with expertise in shaping organizational standards.
- Familiarity with model-based definition (MBD) and digital thread practices.

- Experience mentoring junior engineers and drafters on drawing standards.
