Staff Software Engineer (Python)

Location: US - Austin, TX; hybrid position requiring at least 3 days in the office. Travel required 5–10% of the time.

Salary: $131,600–$210,300 USD per year, with potential bonus and equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and evolve a network infrastructure-as-code platform.
• Build robust, scalable infrastructure management products, distributed systems, and automation services.
• Deliver end-to-end product features and collaborate with product owners and cross-functional Agile teams.
• Influence engineering standards and best practices for scalability, security, reusability, and reliability.
• Provide technical guidance through design reviews, code reviews, mentoring, and user documentation.
• Use AI-powered tools to improve coding, debugging, testing, documentation, and refactoring while maintaining engineering rigor.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 2+ years with an advanced degree, a PhD with no required experience, or 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong Python and Angular expertise.
• Experience building and deploying modern services and scalable web applications.
• Knowledge of frontend development with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with APIs, databases, systems integration, data structures, and backend Python development.
• Ability to collaborate with Product, Test, DevOps, and Agile/Scrum teams.
