Software Engineer (L2)

Location: 100% remote within Canada; candidates must currently reside in Canada and be legally authorized to work there.

Salary: CAD 119,938–132,563 per year, excluding equity, benefits, and perks.

What you will do

• Implement well-defined backend and full-stack features under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Write, test, maintain, and review clean, reliable code across TypeScript, Python, Ruby, and related codebases.
• Support database updates, API integrations, internal tooling, and shared component improvements.
• Debug and resolve issues in production and staging environments while contributing to logging, monitoring, and metrics.
• Collaborate with product and design partners during planning, refinement, and retrospectives.
• Document smaller design proposals, communicate progress and risks, and contribute to technical discussions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 1 year of professional software development experience, excluding internships, focused on backend or full-stack development.
• Proficiency in one or more backend languages, such as Ruby or Python.
• Familiarity with TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, APIs, frontend-to-backend integration, and unit testing.
• Foundational knowledge of databases, system architecture, distributed systems, and cloud-based environments.
• Must currently reside in Canada and be legally authorized to work in Canada.

Nice to have

• Exposure to React or other component-based frontend frameworks.
• Experience with design systems or shared component libraries.
• Demonstrated use of AI tools to improve productivity.
