Counsel, Healthcare Regulatory & Privacy (Healthcare Technology): Advising a provider-facing healthcare business on privacy programs, healthcare regulatory compliance, commercial transactions, and data security incidents with an accent on HIPAA, state privacy laws, healthcare contracting, and fraud-and-abuse requirements. Focus on translating complex regulations into practical guidance, managing privacy and security incidents, and supporting AI-enabled digital health products.
Location: Dallas, Texas, United States
Salary: $188,500–$282,500 base salary per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits

What you will do
- Advise provider-facing healthcare teams on privacy laws and continuously improve privacy programs across global markets.
- Support healthcare regulatory issues in contracts and B2B arrangements with health systems, payors, and other partners.
- Advise on provider agreements, MSO structures, physician relationship compliance, Stark Law, the Anti-Kickback Statute, fee-splitting, and corporate practice of medicine considerations.
- Guide compliance with scope-of-practice, fraud and abuse, reimbursement, coding, commercial, and marketing requirements.
- Partner with data security teams to manage privacy and security incidents, customer escalations, and regulatory inquiries.
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
- At least 6 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm or in-house healthcare, medical device, life sciences, or health technology environment.
- Substantive experience with provider-side healthcare regulatory and compliance matters.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and hands-on experience with state privacy laws such as CCPA/CPRA.
- Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, business-friendly guidance and collaborate with product, engineering, and compliance teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with digital health products and FDA requirements for software as a medical device.
- Experience developing or using AI offerings in healthcare settings.
- Familiarity with state health data privacy laws beyond CCPA/CPRA, including Washington My Health My Data Act and Texas HB 300/TMPRA.
