What you will do

• Serve as the primary advisor on global privacy laws and continuously improve privacy programs (HIPAA, CCPA, GDPR).
• Advise on healthcare regulatory issues in B2B contracts with health systems, payors, and MSO structures.
• Ensure compliance with Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and physician relationship regulations.
• Provide guidance on scope-of-practice rules, healthcare fraud and abuse, and reimbursement/coding considerations.
• Partner with data security teams to manage data privacy and security incidents and handle regulator inquiries.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
• 6+ years of legal experience in a law firm or in-house at a healthcare provider, medical device, life sciences, or health tech company.
• Substantive experience advising on provider-side healthcare regulatory and compliance matters.
• Strong working knowledge of HIPAA and hands-on experience with state privacy laws like CCPA/CPRA.
• Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, business-friendly guidance.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, compliance) in a fast-paced tech environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with digital health products and familiarity with the FDA regulatory framework for software-as-a-medical-device (SaMD).
• Comfort with developing and using AI offerings in healthcare settings.
• Familiarity with additional state health data privacy laws (e.g., Washington My Health My Data Act, Texas HB 300).
