Product & Privacy Counsel (Cybersecurity)

Location: US, Remote

Salary: $139,000–$163,000 annually, plus equity in the form of stock options.

hirify.global is a remote cybersecurity product company developing NodeZero, a platform for production-safe autonomous penetration testing and security assessments.

What you will do

• Partner with Product and Engineering throughout the product lifecycle, from design and development through launch and ongoing operation.
• Advise on product functionality, data use, telemetry, logging, APIs, integrations, AI, emerging technologies, and related regulations.
• Operate and scale the global privacy program, including privacy-by-design practices, PIAs, DPIAs, and data protection assessments.
• Advise on GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, US state privacy laws, data subject rights, retention, subprocessors, and privacy operations.
• Manage cross-border data transfer matters, including SCCs, transfer impact assessments, and the Data Privacy Framework.
• Draft and negotiate DPAs, privacy terms, customer-facing documentation, playbooks, and guidance while supporting enterprise negotiations and diligence.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one US state bar.
• At least 4 years of relevant legal experience covering both product or technology counseling and privacy or data protection.
• Experience advising SaaS, cybersecurity, software, or other technology businesses and partnering directly with Product and Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, US state privacy laws, DPAs, SCCs, cross-border data transfers, and privacy-by-design principles.
• Ability to understand technical products, data flows, software architecture, APIs, and cloud services and provide practical, risk-based recommendations.
• Strong drafting, communication, project-management, and independent matter-management skills.

Nice to have

• In-house experience in SaaS, cybersecurity, AI, cloud, or another high-growth technology company.
• Experience with AI, machine learning, emerging technology regulation, the EU AI Act, or the EU Data Act.
• Experience with PIAs, DPIAs, TIAs, SOC 2, ISO 27001, enterprise negotiations, or privacy certifications such as CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or CIPM.
