TL;DR
Privacy & Compliance Specialist (Health Tech): Managing Virta Health’s privacy compliance program, assessments, data inventories, privacy inquiries, and compliance projects with an accent on HIPAA, state privacy laws, and protected health information. Focus on operationalizing Privacy by Design, improving DSAR and incident response workflows, and building privacy metrics and automation.

Location: Remote within the United States; corporate roles are not hired in AK, AR, DE, HI, ME, MS, NM, OK, SD, VT, or WI. Office hubs are in Denver and San Francisco.

Salary: $100,000–$120,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

  • Manage the privacy compliance program, including policies, procedures, documentation, data inventories, records of processing activities, and data flow maps.
  • Conduct and coordinate privacy impact assessments and data protection assessments for products, features, and vendors.
  • Operationalize HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA, state privacy laws, and Privacy by Design practices.
  • Support data subject rights requests and privacy incident response workflows.
  • Respond to customer and partner privacy inquiries, questionnaires, RFPs, security assessments, and due diligence requests.
  • Review DPAs and BAAs, manage cross-functional initiatives, deliver privacy training, and build metrics, dashboards, and process automation.

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of experience in privacy, compliance, data protection, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA, state consumer privacy laws, and health data regulations.
  • Experience with privacy impact assessments, incident response, or DSAR workflows.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including translating complex privacy requirements into practical guidance.
  • Proactive use of AI tools to improve output and efficiency.
