Physical Infrastructure Design Lead

What you will do

• Lead the physical design of datacenter campuses and compute halls, covering power topology, cooling topology, rack density, cable routing, and deployment standards.
• Design infrastructure for 100 kW to 1 MW+ racks, including direct-to-chip liquid cooling, CDU loops, chilled water systems, rear-door heat exchangers, immersion readiness, and megawatt-scale redundancy.
• Lead CAD, CFD/CFM modeling, thermal simulations, electrical one-lines, grounding strategies, UPS and generator integration, and fire suppression design inputs.
• Drive electrical architecture decisions across utility interconnection, switchgear, UPS, backup generation, grounding, and fault-tolerant distribution.
• Create repeatable design patterns for multiple campuses and deployment waves while serving as the senior technical authority for physical infrastructure tradeoffs and lifecycle cost.

Requirements

• Experience building hyperscale campuses, HPC datacenters, liquid-cooled facilities, or high-density compute deployments.
• Deep knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems engineering for mission-critical environments.
• Expertise in direct-to-chip liquid cooling and advanced thermal architectures.
• Strong command of CAD, CFD, and facility design workflows.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional delivery with construction and utility partners, including site selection, capacity planning, and utility timelines.
• Demonstrated ability to connect facility engineering detail with strategic infrastructure roadmaps.
