Commercial Policy Lead (Brand Safety & Malware)

Location: Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area. Work format: Hybrid (office 2 days a week).

Salary: $192,000 – $216,000 + equity + benefits

What you will do

• Develop and evolve Brand Safety, Suitability, and anti-malvertising policies for the ads business.
• Translate complex policy requirements into actionable guidance for Sales and Product teams.
• Partner directly with advertising customers and internal stakeholders to define requirements.
• Guide revenue product teams throughout the development lifecycle on risk and mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Trust & Safety to scale detection infrastructure and enforcement.
• Represent Discord's commercial policy approach within industry groups (e.g., TAG, IAB) and create user-facing communications.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in advertising policy, marketplace quality, trust & safety, or brand safety within tech companies.
• Expertise in digital advertising, Brand Safety/Suitability, or anti-malware strategy.
• Deep understanding of programmatic ecosystems and vendors such as DoubleVerify, IAS, HUMAN, or similar.
• Proven experience addressing large-scale malvertising schemes.
• Experience using AI/LLM tools in daily projects and workflows.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to inform complex policy decisions.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Discord platform and gaming/creator communities.
• Knowledge of subscription models, virtual goods, or in-app purchases.
