Senior Electrical Engineer

Location: United States - Massachusetts - Andover. Hybrid work arrangement. Relocation support may be available based on business needs and eligibility. Permanent U.S. work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Annual base salary: $99,200–$165,400, plus a 12.5% bonus target and eligibility for a share-based long-term incentive program.

What you will do

• Support the design, maintenance, reliability, modification, and lifecycle management of site electrical utilities and power distribution infrastructure.
• Develop engineering designs and studies for incoming utility power, substations, transformers, medium- and low-voltage distribution, metering, CHP turbines, emergency generators, UPS systems, and related equipment.
• Lead or co-lead capital, expansion, reliability, and infrastructure projects from planning through completion.
• Review construction specifications, drawings, and design packages, and collaborate with contractors, architects, consultants, and utility providers.
• Support electrical safety programs, including arc flash studies, protection coordination, NFPA 70E compliance, and proactive safety assessments.
• Improve asset reliability through preventive maintenance, root cause failure analysis, obsolescence planning, sustainability initiatives, and long-range infrastructure planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of experience, master’s degree with at least 2 years, PhD with 0+ years, associate degree with 8 years, or high school diploma with 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing and laying out electrical, standby, emergency, and UPS power systems, grounding and lightning protection, and low-voltage distribution systems.
• Experience with underground electrical distribution, medium-voltage substations, central utility systems, and electrical power studies.
• Knowledge of voltage drop, overcurrent device coordination, arc flash hazards, and applicable NFPA 70E, NEC, NEMA, IEEE, UL, and LEED requirements.
• Ability to collaborate across operations and maintenance functions, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be authorized to work permanently in the United States. U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

• Proficiency with SAP.
• Project management experience.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and quality standards in a pharmaceutical environment.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage changing priorities.
• Experience using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot for problem solving.
