Data QA Engineer

TL;DR

Data QA Engineer (SQL/ETL): Safeguarding enterprise data ecosystems by validating ETL pipelines, database objects, migrations, transformations, and BI reporting layers with an accent on data accuracy, automation, and end-to-end quality assurance. What you will do

• Validate ETL and ELT pipelines, transformations, referential integrity, constraints, normalization, and business logic.
• Test stored procedures, triggers, views, functions, database structures, migrations, and reporting layers.
• Write complex SQL queries for data verification, reconciliation, troubleshooting, and integrity checks.
• Build and maintain automated database regression and integration tests.
• Analyze query execution plans and indexing, identify performance issues, and collaborate with DBAs on tuning.
• Track defects and promote data quality practices with developers, analysts, and product teams using JIRA or TestRail.

Requirements

• Advanced SQL skills for deep data verification, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience validating ETL or ELT pipelines, transformation logic, and data warehouse environments.
• Experience testing database objects and structures, including schema validation and data normalization.
• Experience documenting test plans, cases, results, and defects throughout the testing lifecycle.
• Practical experience with test automation tools and programming languages such as Python, Selenium, or custom database scripting.
• Ability to work remotely from Latin America.

Nice to have

• Experience with Apache JMeter for database load, stress, and performance testing.
• Experience testing Tableau or Power BI reports and business logic.
• Knowledge of query execution plans, indexing strategies, and database performance tuning.
