Salary: $126,000 – $190,000

What you will do

• Design, develop, and operate distributed, scalable, and secure full-stack cloud services at petabyte scale.
• Build backend services and data pipelines to deliver direct customer impact.
• Collaborate with product partners to build AI-powered legal data solutions that operate at massive scale.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide detailed root cause analysis.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship, leading design and code reviews to raise engineering quality.
• Drive service ownership through reliability efforts, on-call rotations, and incident response guidance.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen to satisfy Public Trust clearance eligibility requirements.
• 5+ years of experience designing and operating cloud-native systems and distributed architectures.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems fundamentals, including replication, partitioning, and CAP/PACELC trade-offs.
• Proven track record of resolving complex issues such as data skew, hot spots, and split-brain scenarios.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD, observability, and incident response.
• Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in high-scale or regulated environments.
• Familiarity with AI-development tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code.
• Knowledge of storage engine internals, such as LSM trees, B-trees, and compaction strategies.
• Familiarity with FedRAMP compliance frameworks.
