Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote (US)

Salary: $215,000–$285,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Build and ship Ori products across the ori CLI, harness integrations, Slack, and desktop surfaces.
• Implement model switching, provider fallbacks, model-specific tool and prompt settings, and organizational guardrails.
• Develop the agent runtime, including sandboxed agents, secrets management, session management, compaction, and reusable agent skills.
• Enable agents to move from local machines to the cloud through deployment, forking, shutdown, and version-controlled, auditable state.
• Own quality across installation, authentication, CLI UX, reliability, observability, and evaluations.
• Feed product requirements back into hirify.global APIs and SDKs for multi-model agent development.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience shipping production software with ownership of developer tools, CLIs, agent products, or related infrastructure.
• Daily fluency with coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Pi, or Hermes, with strong opinions about agent loops, harnesses, and tool integrations.
• Understanding of tool calling, context management, prompt caching, evaluations, and model cost, latency, and quality trade-offs.
• Systems judgment around sandboxing, process isolation, secrets, and reliability across many users.
• High agency, product judgment for developer tools, and willingness to prototype, ship, iterate, and work directly with users.
• Must be able to work remotely from the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience building or maintaining an open-source agent harness, CLI, or developer tool.
• Experience with multi-agent systems, agent skills or memory, evaluation and benchmarking tools, Slack apps, or native macOS apps.
• Existing use of hirify.global or Ori, or active side projects in AI tooling.
