GCP Data Platform Engineer

Location: Atlanta; Charlotte, NC

Salary: $105,000–$115,000 base compensation annually

What you will do

• Build a hybrid data platform connecting an on-premises Cloudera cluster with Google Cloud Platform.
• Configure Cloudera infrastructure, service accounts, roles, and multitenant permission structures.
• Design and implement Apache Iceberg table structures for hybrid on-premises and cloud workloads.
• Integrate the Iceberg REST Catalog with Apache Gravitino to create a unified metadata layer.
• Establish GCP as a production tenant and manage the lifecycle through production deployment.
• Document cross-platform interoperability, access patterns, architectural blueprints, and implementation best practices.

Requirements

• 5 years of relevant data platform engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with on-premises Cloudera big data clusters.
• Experience with Apache Iceberg, Iceberg REST Catalog, and Apache Gravitino.
• Experience creating service accounts and implementing role-based access control in hybrid environments.
