Engineering Manager (C#/.NET)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; hybrid work with in-office collaboration for 10+ days per month

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Lead a portfolio of technology projects and manage a team building event-driven, cloud-native services and full-stack systems.
• Set technical direction and make decisions on system design, architecture, and delivery.
• Collaborate with product managers and multifunctional teams to deliver robust cloud-based solutions.
• Build teams, coach engineers, support career development, and attract and retain talent.
• Drive agile development, engineering excellence, operational improvements, and architectural standards.
• Participate in the team’s build-and-run model, including the on-call pager rotation.

Requirements

• Strong leadership, people management, team-building, communication, coordination, and influencing skills.
• Experience with software development lifecycles, engineering excellence processes, Agile methodologies, and project management.
• Deep software engineering experience with complex distributed systems and hands-on ability to review code and technical details.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft languages and frameworks, including C#, .NET, SQL Server, and Entity Framework.
• Ability to own a technical domain and collaborate with business partners and customers.
• Ability to work from the Chicago office 10+ days per month.

• Expertise with Azure, including Function Apps and Service Bus.
• Experience participating in internal or external technology communities.
