TL;DR

Systems Engineer (Aerospace & Defence): Supporting the development and integration of complex technology-driven products with an accent on requirements management and hardware-software integration. Location: Plymouth, UK. Must be able to work on-site 3 days per week. Must be eligible to obtain SC security clearance.

Salary: GBP 40,000 - 60,000 yearly

What you will do

• Define, manage, and maintain system requirements throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Support system integration activities across both hardware and software domains.
• Develop and execute verification and validation (V&V) strategies.
• Analyze system performance and investigate complex technical issues.
• Facilitate stakeholder reviews, requirements capture, and technical documentation.
• Contribute to overall system design and lifecycle engineering activities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience applying systems engineering principles.
• Proven experience in capturing and tracing requirements within engineering environments.
• Strong understanding of system integration, verification, and validation processes.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, or equivalent technical military experience.
• Eligibility and willingness to obtain SC security clearance.
• Must be based in or able to commute to Plymouth for 3 days of on-site work per week.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating sensor-based systems.
• Knowledge of real-time systems and data acquisition environments.
• Familiarity with requirements management tools like DOORS.
• Exposure to model-based systems engineering (MBSE) approaches.
