Sr. Manager, Software Engineering (DevOps / Platform Engineering)

Location: Foster City, California, United States; at least 3 days in the office. Travel required 5–10% of the time.

Salary: $180,600–$289,300 USD per year, with potential bonus and equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead and manage software engineers building Open hirify.globalNet, a distributed next-generation payment-processing platform.
• Design and evolve highly scalable, fault-tolerant components using cloud-native and DevSecOps principles.
• Build automated code deployment systems, CI/CD pipelines, workflows, APIs, and integration patterns.
• Drive developer productivity initiatives across automation, continuous integration, delivery, observability, and release engineering.
• Champion application, infrastructure, and enterprise security, including secure coding, certificate management, and component security analysis.
• Coach, mentor, hire, and manage direct reports while partnering with operations, infrastructure, security, and engineering stakeholders.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 5+ years with an advanced degree, or 2+ years with a PhD.
• 3+ years of direct management experience, including hiring, coaching, performance development, and leading geographically distributed teams.
• 8+ years providing technical leadership for cloud-native platforms, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, reliability engineering, or security-focused initiatives.
• Hands-on experience managing enterprise production systems in public or private cloud environments with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD solutions, Jenkins, Git, Maven, scripting, and at least one programming language; Java or Go preferred.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, networking, operating systems, storage, monitoring, and security engineering.

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed databases, distributed computing, and high-frequency transactions.
• Experience with Splunk, Sysdig, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Previous experience in financial services or payment processing.
